Sconces

Wall sconces add light at eye level, where ceiling fixtures can't reach. Use them to flank a bathroom mirror, replace bedside lamps, light a hallway or stair run, or frame a fireplace. Browse more than 700 designs including swing-arm reading lights, plug-in styles that need no new wiring, and picture lights.

Placement tip: Mount bathroom sconces at roughly 60–66" from the floor and flank the mirror rather than centering above it — side lighting is what eliminates the shadows that make shaving and makeup difficult. In hallways, space sconces 8–10 feet apart.
